Conferences

COFAS holds an annual conference, normally in late May or early June. The conferences rotate through three regions: west, central (Ontario/Quebec) and east.

About the annual conference

During these annual get-togethers, COFAS draws on both in-house and outside expertise to deliver professional development for faculty association staff members.

Each conference is planned by volunteer program and site coordinators, with oversight from the Executive Committee. We appreciate the contributions and leadership of those who have helped to make COFAS conferences an annual success.

A highlight of each conference is the group dinner, which traditionally celebrates the region’s food and hospitality.

COFAS business meetings

Part of each conference is the COFAS business meeting, at which we vote for the incoming Executive Committee, review the Treasurer’s report, discuss items of business for the organization, and choose future conference destinations, along with the volunteers to coordinate the conference.

Only individuals qualified to be members of the Association shall attend the annual business meeting. Non-members in attendance at the conference will not be permitted to attend the business meeting.

The COFAS logo was designed for the 2005 COFAS conference in Vancouver by Edith Varga. Since that time, it has been customized to represent regional conferences by Edith Varga or, more recently, Leanne Rosinski.
